“We are going to have to buy him a trophy cabinet…” Federation secretary double recognition
Hampshire Police Federation’s Branch Secretary Garry Smith has won an impressive two awards over the last month in honour of his commitment and representation.
Garry won the Modern Day Champion Award at the Serve and Protect Credit Union 20th Anniversary Event in October, just days before he was given the Hampshire Police Federation Long Term Achievement Award at the Federation’s Award and Recognition evening.
The Award is given to an individual who has clearly optimised the federations objectives of influencing, negotiating and representing and is an asset to the branch.
Zoë Wakefield, Hampshire Federation Chair, said: “Both of these awards are very well deserved. Garry puts a lot of focus on making sure our Reps get recognition for what they do, so I think it’s only right that he’s recognised for everything that he does.
“He works so hard, has done so much with our partners and he’s brought in so much money in sponsorship-wise for us to kind of host these events. He’s done some really great work with Serve and Protect which puts officers in a better financial position, so I’m really pleased for him.
“We’re going to have to buy him a trophy cabinet at this rate.”
