Hampshire Officers set for mutual aid at Commonwealth Games
HAMPSHIRE Police officers who are helping to police the Commonwealth Games as part of mutual aid should make the most of the experience, the Federation has said.
The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is taking place from 28 July-8 August and Hampshire officers will be attending to help out with crowd control.
Hampshire Police Federation Chair Zoë Wakefield said: “We have got officers going up there on mutual aid and my message is to enjoy it and soak up the experience, because how often do you get the opportunity to police something like the Commonwealth Games? It’s not expected to be contentious, like COP26.”
She added: “There are Federation Reps up there all the time if you need help, and some Hampshire Fed reps are up there for one week of the three. But if you need any help track down one of the Fed reps up there, no matter what force they’re from.”
