New Medical Scheme Gets Officers Help Quicker

HAMPSHIRE Police Federation’s newly launched medical scheme offers a host of benefits for serving officers and staff.

It provides private healthcare via Spire Healthcare at an affordable cost, with the option for people to add their family to the cover.

Hampshire Police Federation Chair Zoë Wakefield said: “Our officers have been benefiting from the scheme, and it’s really important, what with the length of NHS waiting lists. We’ve got colleagues who are off sick because they’re on the waiting list. For a little bit of money each month, if they can get access to that treatment quicker, it’s going to get them back to work quicker.

“There are also lots of additional benefits, like money towards glasses, and money back on prescriptions. Lots of day-to-day stuff that people can get financial help with that people might not necessarily associate with the healthcare scheme.”

Joiners will receive the first three months free and then adult cover starts from as little as £21.90 and child cover from just £5.00 per month.

Subscribers to the scheme also get full access to the MediCash app, which includes:

  • £30 per day for hospital day case admissions
  • Up to £85 for routine dental treatment
  • £30 per day for hospital day case admissions
  • £30 for prescriptions, inoculations and flu jab
